Conifers Day Nursery will strive to achieve a caring and stimulating environment in which to leave your child. We respect that each child is unique. We aim to provide the best possible care which will help the children to develop to their full potential in line with the stated desirable outcomes laid down by the Department of Education. Our main aim is to ensure your child’s ‘early years are happy years’.

Our nursery comprises of age related play rooms, as well as free flow outdoor area. The nursery has a secure, closed garden surrounded by fences so that children can enjoy themselves freely and safely. Our rooms are spacious allowing for more active play, designed to help children’s ever growing needs and their progression in learning and development.

Our staff will provide a wide range of freshly prepared snacks for breakfast, mid-morning snack, tea and late afternoon snacks. Lunch and pudding will be provided by external caterers. All children are encouraged to make choices and try foods but staff will be sympathetic to any dislikes. Special diets can be catered for (vegetarian, dairy free, halal etc). Fresh drinking water is available for the children throughout the day. We promote healthy eating within the setting with recommendations from the Health Education Authority.
All staff at Conifers hold their Food and Hygiene Certification and we have a 5 Star Food Standards Agency rating.
Quality care is dependent upon quality staff. All staff are aware that working in partnership with parents/carers is essential to ensure that ‘seamless’ care is provided for your child. The nursery is run by a manager and deputy who are supported by room co-ordinators and nursery practitioners. All staff hold current or are working towards childcare qualifications (NNEB, BTEC, NVQ). All staff are committed to providing high quality child care they are well supported and receive ongoing training. The qualified staff work alongside outside agencies and other professionals to ensure the care that your child receives is second to none.

Conifers Day Nursery shares part of the premises with the Dorothy Parkes Centre which is a community centre based in Smethwick and home to Conifers Day Nursery. The Centre aims to be a place of welcome and opportunity to the local and wider community and is fully accessible, open seven days a week.
